Suunto X10 GPS Watch

Click HD for best view. X10 or X10 Military? Its a question we are seeing a lot! There really are minimal differences between the X10 and its military counterpart apart from the obvious styling - the X10M sports an all black facial. The military version also features a red backlight and compass in degrees of mils units A lesser know difference is that the GPS funtion of the X10M can be set to use the MGRS system (Millitary Grid Reference System): The MGRS system was designed to simplify the specification of position and passing of coordinates for soldiers and marines. The MGRS system allows users to abbreviate the 13-digit UTM coordinate, making it easier to use. We have not found any immediate advantage here - unless of course you are calling the US army out to rescue you, they may find you a little faster! If you really want to buy Suunto X10, have a look at its instruction manual first, at media.suunto.com Have a look at its forum, forum.suuntowatches.com

Suunto Core Review

!±8± Suunto Core Review

First off, I spend pretty much all day looking at watches so I have grown to appreciate watches that meet expectations in terms of both form and function.  I am really no stranger to the Suunto Watch line up as I have had a Suunto Vector for years and it served me well while I was in the military.  So when I learned that I was going to be one of the first people to give the new Core a spin I was excited to check out the latest addition to the Suunto product offering.

The Suunto Core comes with everything that we all have come to expect from Suunto.  It has a solid list of features as well a very stylish a durable new shell.  Some of the features included in the Suunto Core are log book, compass, timer, depth meter, weather indicator plus much much more.  We put the Suunto Core through its paces in the field and we were impressed by the accuracy of the altimeter as well as the integrated logbook entries.  I had never used a watch with the storm check feature but after wearing the watch for a few days I can see how this could be an invaluable tool while navigating through the backcountry.  The Suunto Core has so many features you must plan of spending some time to review it but don't be scared as I would consider this watch to be usable right out of the box. I was also very impressed how light this watch is for being so feature packed.

At the end of the day Suunto has been setting the standard for outdoor watches for years and the Suunto Core is no different.  It is functionality solid, looks great with the approaching storm alerts this watch is serious piece outdoor equipment that no one should go without.  If you are considering a boiler plate altimeter watch you should diffidently check out the upgraded feature set of the Suunto Core.

Think you've seen this altimeter on someone's wrist before? That's because since its introduction in 1998, the Suunto Vector Altimeter Watch has served as the altimeter, barometer, and electronic compass of choice for hard-core adventurists from mountaineers to Marines. Since then, Suunto has greatly simplified the watch interface on this wristop computer to be more user friendly, upgraded the compass to be more precise, and added weather functions for peace of mind.

First Impressions From The Suunto Vector Survival Watch

If you are an enthusiastic outdoor person, whether or not you are into hiking, climbing or maybe an ordinary fisherman, you merely should not leave the house without a equipment just like Suunto Vector. Firstly it features a very precise digital altimeter, that requires regular calibration, but if you monitor what it really says, you ought to have no issues maintaining on precisely what your location is above or below sea level.

Next is yet another generally under-used tool, a digital barometer. Guaranteed it may look scary initially, but invest a couple of minutes looking at the handbook, and you should have it down pretty quickly. I probably would not say you could potentially bet your life on the precision of the barometer, however it is a good deal closer to forecasting the true conditions than any meteorologist I have ever stumbled upon. I'd personally say it has been around 80% accurate When was the last time you could point out that about the local weatherman?

Additionally, the barometer features a built-in thermometer. Now again, for a absolutely correct temperature reading you need to take the watch off your wrist for approximately 15 minutes first, and as far as I am aware, all timepieces which feature this functionality have to be carried out exactly the same, therefore bear that in mind before you look at your watch and announce it is ninety degrees when it is more probably seventy five.

Finally the last effective gizmo crammed into this watch is a extremely precise digital compass. After calibrated this compass offers you superb guidance, particularly for the enthusiastic hikers out there who depend on map reading in new terrain.

I nearly forgot, it can tell the time! It comes with an alarm and also a stop watch. Yet another thing, the various colors you will find the Vector make it as much an accessory for your hiking outfit as an invaluable device required for a safe travel.
